All the employees an organization should be taught to use AED and given knowledge of CPR than just few designated officers as this will help to reduce the risk of death due to SCA on the premises and also save the organization from any AED liability issues.
Implementing AED programs at workplace can considerably increases the survival rate of SCA victims. The key to carry out a successful AED program is installing high quality AED equipment, regular AED training, and timely maintenance of the AED equipment. Apart from all these technical issues it is also essential to overcome various phobias that people have, such as fear of infection, fear of legal consequences, fear of harming the victim, and fear of failure. It is very essential to educate the people and make them aware about SCA and how to take lifesaving decisions. AED training programs should be scenario-based and interactive for best results.
