It is now firmly established that there is a wide range of heart health benefits to increasing the amount of omega 3 essential fats (DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)) in your diet. One of these important heart benefits, for anyone with high triglycerides, is that increasing your intake of DHA and EPA can help lower triglycerides.

Almost all of us eat a diet that is too low in the essential fatty acids known as omega 3 fats. These are found in fish oil and the research has clearly established that by increasing the amount of fish oil in our diet we improve our heart health and also attract a range of other health benefits.

Some of the heart benefits of increasing your intake of omega 3 essential fatty acids include a reduction in the risk of arrhythmia, which can lead to fatal heart attack, a reduction in blood pressure and a decrease in the growth rate of plaque in the arteries. But for our purposes today the research also show a decrease in triglycerides levels.

Triglycerides are a form of fat that can be manufactured in the body from the food you eat and exist in the blood. Having high triglycerides increases the risk of blood clots and can also lead to a lowering of your HDL (good) cholesterol. Basically high triglycerides are linked to coronary artery disease. And high triglycerides can also be a risk factor in some other diseases, for example diabetes.

A diet with high levels of saturated fat intake can increase triglyceride levels as can a diet of high sugar foods. Risk factors also include being overweight and drinking too much alcohol.

So lowering triglycerides is very important for many people who want to know how to lower triglycerides.

There's a number of things that help lower triglycerides. These include reducing the amount of saturated fat in your diet, exercising more, eating less sugary foods, losing weight and reducing alcohol intake.

But now it is also clear that if you increase your intake of omega 3 essential fatty acids found in fish oil that can also be a big part of any strategy for lowering your triglyceride levels.

For example a statement published on the website of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition concludes that "omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil decreased serum triglyceride concentrations by 25% to 30%," and "A dose-response relationship exists between omega-3 fatty acid intake and triglyceride lowering".

So it is now clear that improving your level of intake of omega 3 essential fatty acids can help lower triglycerides and because this is now clearly established the American Heart Association tells people with high triglycerides to maintain a level of intake of 2 to 4 grams per day of DHA and EPA by way of fish oil supplements under the care of a physician.

Many people have a problem with lowering triglycerides and this is good news for them and gives them a way to lower triglycerides naturally.

And as well as lowering triglycerides there are other heart benefits as well as a wide range of other health benefits from increasing your intake of omega 3 fats by way of fish oil supplementation.

Of course it is simple to eat more fish but unfortunately fish is contaminated with mercury and is generally very expensive. There are excellent fish oil supplements available which are not contaminated and which can be taken daily very cost effectively. Note however that not all fish oil supplements are of high quality.

If you're interested to find out how to compare fish oil supplements to find the best available (which I take myself) visit my website.

How to Manage Cholestrol

It is imperative that you maintain optimum cholesterol levels. A high level of cholesterol increases risks of a coronary attack along with various other health disorders. If you too are working with the difficulty of high cholesterol, then the following advice will be of great help.

Step one : Cut down on your fat and cholesterol consumption
Controlling the amount of cholesterol and cholesterol that you consume is the 1st towards lowering cholesterol levels in your blood stream. Instead of consuming butter and oils loaded in saturated fatty acids opt for healthy, monosaturated oils such as olive oil and canola oil.

Similarly, stop consuming high cholesterol food items like eggs, polyunsaturated oils, butter, margarine or any other type of fatty dressing. Instead, include plenty of dietary fibre and full cereals into your diet.

Step two : change Your Lifestyle
This is meant especially for all couch-potatoes. They have to give in on their practice of eating junk-food and lying around. It is time that they give up such a lifestyle or else it might be too late. Switch from junk-food to sensible food foods loaded in significant nutrients and fibre. Also, move off that couch and start doing some exercise. Play something in the field, do some running or cycling. That would help increase your rate of metabolism and let you to quickly burn whatever you eat.

Step 3: Switch to cholesterol lowering medication if lifestyle changes don't help
Take medicines if alterations in lifestyle do not work or there is an important need to cut back the levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Depending upon the part of cholesterol needed to be reduced- Cholesterol, LDL cholesterol or Triglyceride- these medicines are split into many varieties.

If your LDL levels are high, then you would medications such as statin and Vitamin B also known as Niacin. However, make sure that you do not overdose Niacin as it can cause serious complications. You should only consume a quantity as suggested by your GP. The same is applicable for other cholesterol lowering medications as well as an overdose of any medicine can have side effects.

Step 4: Raise the Intake of HDL Cholesterol
HDL often referred to as the good cholesterol, can help in lowering the overall cholesterol levels in the body. An optimum level of HDL is critical for the body. The ideal level of HDL in the body is 60 mg/dL [ 1.55 mmol/L ]. HDL level below this level can be risky for your health condition.

If your HDL Cholesterol level has fallen below the above stated level you can increase it is regarded perilous for the help of foods such as monosaturated oils [ olive oil ], foods rich in Vitamin B, and by limited consumption of alcohol. However, do not over-indulge in consuming Vitamin B. This can cause serious side-effects.

Myocardial necrosis tissue is nothing but destruction of heart muscle cells.

There is a difference between cells getting destroyed and cells that are destroyed. If you want to live a healthy life, you should take nutritious food. Of course, none of us are going to live forever. But those who take nutritious food postpone their ageing by living a healthy life. The lifespan is increased. Here, our cells are getting destroyed naturally over a period of time and we pass away happily. But many of us do not pay attention to nutrition and we fall sick often. Generally what do we do? We take medicines. It is inevitable. To solve the immediate crisis of recovery from illness, we pledge our lifespan. Here, the cells are destroyed by medicines, our life span is reduced and we leave this world with suffering.

Alcohol has also been shown to reduce a chance of a heart attack by almost 50% through moderation as well. This is because many heart attacks are caused by blockages in arteries. Alcohol acts as a natural blood thinner, making it less likely for blockages to occur. This, along with it's ability to reduce cholesterol numbers has been favored as an alternative to drug therapy in the treatment of high cholesterol along with a change in diet and exercise.

The truth is that there are vitamins and herbs that can greatly lower a person's blood pressure naturally, thus avoiding the need for prescription medication in these cases. There are minerals, too, that are effective as natural remedies for this illness. Some perfect examples are calcium and magnesium. Most of us do not get enough calcium or magnesium from our diet. There are also useful oils that our bodies need in order to function properly.

Other cholesterol lowering medications do not usually have the full effect because alcohol can lower their potency. This is also true for those who are being treated for other conditions such as diabetes. It's a good idea to consult with a doctor before considering alcohol consumption as a mean of treatment.

Get yourself the whole story about high blood pressure or hypertension and the natural remedies available to treat it so you can live your life without those awful side effects you are suffering right now

Ways To Decrease Blood Pressure

In straightforward words, blood pressure can be best defined as the pressure the blood exerts on the walls of the arteries. There are two types of forces within the body that create blood pressure. One of these two forces is exerted by the heart when it pumps blood into the body. The other force is exerted by the arteries as resistance to the pressure that is exerted by the blood.

If your blood pressure remains high constantly, you are said to be afflicted by hypertension. Blood pressure that falls above 140 / 90mmHg is specified as raised blood pressure. Folks who are suffering from hypertension need to look for appropriate treatment to lower their blood pressure levels.

The strain caused by the pressure of the blood on the arteries can end up in weakening or clogging of the vessels which in turn may lead to the blocking and weakening of blood vessels themselves. It may eventually cause damage to the heart and kidneys as well. High blood also renders the body more vulnerable to diseases such as heart problems, stroke, kidney infirmities and dementia.

There are some very effective ways to lower blood pressure. You should reduce your weight in case you are large or obese. More weight puts load on the heart and disturbs its act of pumping blood.

Reducing your consumption of sodium will also help lower blood pressure. Most food items like potato chips, cheese, bread, nachos, cookies etc contain sodium. Sodium is also present in salt. 2,000 milligrams of sodium each day is the recommended intake.

Another thing that you can do to control hypertension is quit alcohol. Reducing your caffeine intake will also help lower blood pressure. Excessive caffeine intake results in astringency that in turn causes strain on the heart that eventually increases the blood pressure.

Give up or stop consuming alcohol. Also, limit the intake of caffeine by lowering the consumption of coffee. Caffeine causes acidity that results in stress on heart. This stress may increase the blood pressure.

Double your fruit and vegetable intake together with other fiber rich foods as they help up energy levels required to perform daily activities. Avoid food items which have high cholesterol or fat content. Both cholesterol and fat block the heart and obstruct blood circulation.

Give up smoking and any intake of tobacco products like cigarettes which contain nicotine. Both nicotine and tobacco can narrow blood vessels causing the heart to beat much faster then standard resulting in increases blood pressure levels.

Besides, you can also use varied drugs to treat raised blood pressure. Bet-blockers, Alpha-blockers, ACE inhibitors, diuretics are some classes of drugs that will help control blood pressure. Diuretics help control blood pressure by eliminating excess sodium and forestalling accumulation of liquids in the body. While Beta blockers work by blocking the effects of adrenaline, alpha blockers unblock the arteries. ACE inhibitors aid in the prevention of narrowing of blood arteries. Calcium channel blockers avert blood vessels from contracting by stopping calcium from going inside the body cells.

There are now clearly established heart benefits from increasing your intake of the essential fatty acids found in fish oil known as omega 3 fats. For this reason the American Heart Association recommends that each of us undertake a minimum intake of Omega3 fats every week. These are heart benefits such as a reduction in the risks of coronary heart disease, but today lets ask whether there is a fish oil blood pressure link or whether increasing your intake of fish oil can help lower blood pressure.

High blood pressure, otherwise known as hypertension, affects many people in our population. Particularly those who are overweight can suffer from high blood pressure and may well spend years on drugs designed to lower blood pressure. If there is an omega 3 blood pressure link this may be good news to many peopleHigh blood pressure is called hypertension and effects very many people. People who are overweight have a higher risk of hypertension and some of these people may spend many years on drugs designed to reduce hypertension. If there is an omega 3 blood pressure link this is good news for many people.

Studies have shown a clear link between fish oil and lowering bloodpressure. One study, of 120 subjects, split the subjects into 5 groups and supplemented their diet with varying combinations of fish or fish oil supplements, or both, or a placebo, and concluded that supplementation with omega 3 lowers blood pressure.

There are 2 primary omega 3 fats and they are called DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). Another study examining the role of these 2 fats found that it was primarily the DHA that was responsible for the reduction in blood pressure.

Anyone who is overweight has a higher risk of coronary heart disease as well as high blood pressure and a 3rd study sought to study any link between lowering hypertension with omega 3 in overweight people. This study also found a link between a higher intake of Omega3 fats in reduced blood pressure, particularly amongst overweight people, and found that increasing intake of omega 3 fats found in fish oil, when combined with another weight-loss regime, could "substantially" reduce dependence on antihypertensive drugs for someone who is overweight and already relying on those drugs.

There is a wide range of health benefits from increasing your intake of omega 3 and these benefits now extend to lowering hyperension. However there are sufficient heart and health benefits from increasing your intake of omega 3 fatty acids that even those with no incidence of hypertension have a wide range of health benefits available to them from increasing fish oil intake. This includes reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease as well as increasing mental acuity and memory and reducing the risk of a range of age related diseases, and more.

The science is now clear and for this reason the American Heart Association recommends minimum intakes of omega 3 for all of us. As over 90 percent of us have dietary intakes of Omega3 fats that are inadequate we should all be taking notice of this advice, including anyone with hyperension.

So it seems there is a clear omega 3 blood pressure link. If you increase your intake of Omega3 fats you will help lower high blood pressure and may also reduce any reliance on antihypertensive drugs.

But how do you effectively increase your intake of Omega3 fats? There are problems with eating fish because fish is expensive and is generally contaminated with mercury and for this reason the FDA tells us not to eat too much fish.

However there are now excellent fish oil capsules available on the market and it's perfectly possible and very cost effective to add fish oil to your daily diet by taking Omega 3 supplements. The best capsules are perfectly clean, however not all are as good as others.

I have examined the range of fish oil capsules available carefully. Visit my website to find out which Omega 3 supplements I choose for myself and my family.

New Review On High Blood Pressure Symptoms

Natural Foods that Lower Blood Pressure

High blood pressure or hypertension is very common disease leading to heart attacks, blockage of arteries and other heart related problems. For people with hypertension, it is vital to monitor it daily and control it by using medicine or holistic high blood pressure remedies.

While, prescription drugs are available to keep high blood pressure, there are also lot of side effects that are regularly experienced by the patients.  Many people with high blood pressure can recognize the symptoms early and take natural organic remedies to lower the blood pressure.

Natural high blood pressure remedies:

Green tea is a ancient potent herb that has many beneficial qualities. One of the innate qualities lowers blood pressure. However, make sure that the tea is not strong because high dosage can create an opposite effect due to xanthenes. (type of caffeine)

Garlic is acts as blood thinner and anti-inflammatory agent. Many naturopathic doctors recommend to eat as much garlic and onions as it is possible.

Exercise is very important in maintaining the blood pressure. Consult kinesiologist and physician to create a routine exercise suitable for you.

High Blood Pressure Causes:

Increase stress levels can be related to rapid fluctuation in blood pressure. Strive to keep peaceful state of mind in traumatic situations by taking deep breaths.

Lower your cholesterol intake. Cholesterol does not flush out our bodies and clogs arteries creating less space for blood flow; thus, increasing the blood pressure.

Salt and sugar intake needs to be minimized in order to sustain good blood pressure. Studies have shown, that lowering sodium intake decreases blood pressure in about 33% of people tested.

Smoking and consuming alcohol beverages are also related to increasing blood pressure.

While many of us with hypertension are looking for natural cures, there are researches that have been done on herbal supplements that claim to help with curing blood pressure issues.
